"Frame of Mind: Making A Decorative Photo Mirror" Children's Workshop
Event Happens: Mar 27, 2010
Southeast Museum of Photography, Daytona State College, 1200 West International Speedway Blvd, Building 1200, Daytona Beach. Children will each be given a glass mirror cut to a predetermined size and shape. They will then work to remove a portion of the mirror's black backing to create a 'window' of clear glass for their photo to show through. The clear area can be large or small; square, oval, or heart shape. Make the edges rough to give it a cool distressed look. Museum staff will take your picture, help you 'antique' its appearance and print it out. Then simply attach it in the area that you rubbed away. Enjoy parent-child art and photography sessions designed for children aged 8-14. Cost: $18 per individual session. Note: Class size is strictly limited, so reserve your spot today! RSVP no later than one week prior to each program date. Reservations are taken on a space available basis. Contact the museum's education office at katsolc@daytonastate.edu or call (386) 506-4569 to register.
